About Proscenium

The story behind the quiet room.

A short introduction to what Proscenium is, who it's for, and how to make it your own.

What is Proscenium?

Proscenium is a workspace built specifically for the people who make musicals — playwrights, composers, lyricists, directors, and everyone in the room between them. It brings dialogue, lyrics, stage directions, character work, and dramatic structure into a single place, and pairs them with AI that acts as a thoughtful collaborator rather than a replacement.

The goal is simple: to give your show the quiet, considered room it deserves — and to let the technology fall away, so the work can come forward.

Your intro paragraph Replace this block with the longer story of Proscenium — how it started, who it's for, and what you want people to feel when they open it.
Getting started

How to use Proscenium.

A few steps from a blank page to a working draft. Fill in the details below with whatever matches your onboarding.

1

Launch the workspace

Click Launch Workspace on the home page to open the editor. No account required to start — your work stays local until you choose to save it.

2

Sketch the setting and characters

Give the show a title, a genre, and a few characters with their voice types. Proscenium uses this as context — you can add, edit, or remove anything later.

3

Write one act at a time

Describe what happens in a scene and let Proscenium draft dialogue, stage directions, and songs alongside you. Edit anything directly, or ask the AI to revise a passage.

4

Refine, save, and export

When the draft is where you want it, save the show to your library or export it as Markdown for rehearsal rooms and read-throughs.

Your how-to steps Swap in the exact steps you want new users to follow. You can keep four steps or add more — the layout will handle it.
